Walton Holt Farm Cross-Country Riding Track

Terms & Conditions of Use
I/We acknowledge that the use of this cross-country course and riding track has certain risks, and I/We accept that Walton Holt Farm and anybody associated with Walton Holt Farm shall not be liable for any injury, loss or damage which may occur.

Walton Holt Farm does not insure riders, pedestrians, horses, ponies, or equipment. Make your own insurance arrangements. Vehicles and trailers are parked in the designated area at your own risk.

For safety reasons, please close the front gates upon arrival to prevent loose horses from escaping.

A body protector and medical armbands are recommended for the cross-country course and are mandatory for those under 16.

Riders 5 years and under must be on a lead rein, and those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 18. Carry a mobile phone in case of emergency. Children must be supervised at all times and are not permitted to be on the cross-country course alone, mounted or spectating on foot.

For safety reasons all lone riders must ensure they have let someone know where they are and that they are riding the cross-country course on their own. For example by giving a friend or family member the What3 Words details and checking in with them before and after.

Studs are recommended in all conditions.

Riders must review the cross-country course, choose jumps suitable for their horse and ability level, and note ground conditions and hazards.

Wear protective riding hats that meet the current British Standard with fastened chinstraps, and suitable footwear with defined heels at all times.

The cross-country course is 4 km long. The track has plenty of room and allows you to avoid any or all of the jumps if you prefer to ride past. Entering the cross-country course is
done at your own risk, accepting potential injury or damage inherent in riding on or near the track or fences.

Direction of the cross-country course is defined by white arrow flags, please stay on the tracks provided and do not ride across any of the farmland. There is only one direction
around the course.

Crossed flags in front of the jump indicate that the jump is out of use and must NOT be jumped.

All accidents must be reported to the owners before leaving the course.

Please report any damage to fences or the course to the owners (you will not be charged).

The emergency telephone numbers of the owners and grid reference/ what3words of the course are displayed on the noticeboard in the parking area and at the end of this form. We strongly advise that riders and their assistants make a note of this before entering the course.

All facilities that are provided must be always left clean and tidy. Please remove any poo and take it home with you. We do not allow it to be left behind or added to our muck heap.

Please take note of any footpath signs and keep off footpaths, and when approaching farm tracks, please slow and look for any traffic.

No racing must take place at any time.

Do not bring your horse or pony onto the farmyard, please remain in the designated parking area and cross-country riding track.

Any spectators must stay clear of jumps at all times.

Please keep dogs on leads at all times. We are a working farm with livestock.

Walton Holt Farm reserves the right to close the cross-country course riding track at any time without notice and ask you to leave should we witness a breach in any of the above
